The IOAS has scheduled two training events for the second half of 2011. The first course was specifically commissioned by the Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (Agriculture and Livestock Service), the competent authority responsible for supervision of the organic sector in Chile. The three-day course in August is a follow-up to one provided in 2010 and will cover more in-depth topics on supervision of control bodies in organic agriculture and will be presented in Spanish by IOAS staff.

A further course will take place on 28, 29 and 30 November 2011 in Bristol, United Kingdom at the offices of the Soil Association. The 3-day course will be on ‘Management of Organic Certification’, and will be aimed at senior certification, inspection and quality managers of certification bodies. Early registration discounts are available up until the end of 30 September. If there is sufficient interest expressed an additional day is planned specifically on the Global Organic Textiles scheme.
